Via DolorosaBIOGRAPHYVia Dolorosa (1993-2000): a Industrial Metal band from Lviv, Ukraine. O riginally under the name Fatal Dead in 1993, Via Dolorosa would undergo several line-up changes culminating in the membership of Max (vocals/bass), George (guitar), Nick (drums) and Stas (guitar) and the name Via Dolorosa being adopted in 1998 (the name being Latin for "way of pain", meaning the road Christ took when being crucified (looser translation: "the cross we must all carry in our lives")). Founded in Lviv, Ukraine, the modern Via Dolorosa played Hardcore Industrial Death and doom metal under the motto "No style limits & total variety" with their eyes cast westward to the vast musical expanse that lay before them outside of their ex-Soviet state. Although their premier release, Everything (1998), was lacking in production, if the media is to be believed, it was good enough to be picked up by 'Moon Records' for distribution in Ukraine. The band was never happy with the deal. They would soon later be picked up by 'Emperor Multimedia's' Alliance compilation project for inclusion on the recording and international distribution. Their own cassette, and the Alliance feature, would be their only publications, for they called it quits shortly after 2000 with Maxim Dutsyak moving to Austria to form another band and escape the depression gripping his homeland. By 2010 Max would move to Austria to play bass in experimental metal band KaaK.
