Dawn of Solace

t would be with The Darkness (2006) under the membership of sole member Tuomas Saukkonen that Dawn of Solace would make its debut. For the follow-up, Waves (2020), Mikko Heikkilä would join to bring in clean vocals to contrast Saukkonen's harsh ones. This partnership would last for Flames of Perdition (2022) and Notes of Perdition (Unplugged Studio Live) EP (2022).

An interesting note, Saukkonen had an intention to release an album in 2008. By April 2007 he had already composed several songs and there was a plan to record the album that autumn and on it, Fernando Ribeiro (from Moonspell) and Ville Sorvali (from Moonsorrow) among others were supposed be guests. But legal matters with respect to the use of who would have access rights to the name Dawn of Solace from the resulting recording put the project on hold by the end of 2008. Saukkonen then killed all his ongoing bands and projects in January 2013 in favor of his new project Wolfheart. But in 2019 Saukkonen announced that he re-started Dawn of Solace to record the sequel to the first album.
