Shatterpoint

ounded upon their primary goal to "kick some ass and drink some beer", Shatterpoint formed in September 2001 under the name Catharsis but soon later changed their name and immediately began recording and preforming the songs that made up their "Cathartic Attack". In their early days, Shatterpoint played every show they could get their hands on, from rowdy local bar shows, to much larger venues, preforming with such other acts as Behemoth (UK), Amon Amarth, Vince Neil and many others, culminating in their debut release of the Consequences EP (2003). Created through a mutual addiction to anger and aggression, Shatterpoint's music was forged with a strong appreciation for music, technique and progression much in the style of the heavy metal bands of the eighties and nineties while managing to maintain their own voice of originality. Lead singer/rhythm guitarist, Shane Drake, was largely responsible for the sound of the band with his rhythms peaking out underneath his versatile voice, along with the support of fellow members Greg Wright (guitar), Chris Zeeman (bass) and Jeremy Baxter (drums). Their debut full length would be Dead Precedence (2007), followed by Perseverance of Failure, At the Sharp End and Mindset of Hatred, all released in 2021 making that a busy year for the band.
