SHOW CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Well, the news is out everywhere but the front page and I'm sure that will come. Many of you have been sitting around for the last week wondering what is up and why I am not talking about the radio gig. Well, I'm going to now... well, kind of.
Those of you who communicate with me via regular e-mail or are on the company mailing list will know the sorted details by now and the characters involved, so I'll spare the blog space and get to the point quickly. The brief of it is, me & the State of The Empire Address radio show was unceremoniously dumped (YES that's what it is called) from C U T Throat radio this past week. The show was receiving fair ratings and was well produced from what I understand so it made no sense. The owner told me that the station was bankrupt, when in fact there is a "merger"..more like a buy-out (or a "sell out" as one of my musically gifted friends put it) and I guess my involvement was incompatible to the new owner's wishes. My only guess is because I own my own production firm & record store. But that's just my thoughts as it has happened before to me; it's a very short sighted business strategy if you ask me. (Hey you don't survive in the music buz as long as I have and not learn a few things about how it works). I was not alone, many DJs were either booted, or chose to leave as well - IMO the bulk of the talent. I received all of a couple of hours notice here in myspace e-mail before my last show was broadcasted. I was told that another station had agreed to take the show and they indeed, welcomed me over but failed to write back to me when they changed their minds! Yes, there was a lot of "respect" for fellow human beings flying around the place -- NOT.
Many supporters of mine were also supporters of these stations... several are now former supporters of the stations I should add.
OK, so what now?
For now the show remains canceled. I am farming it out to other stations with the help of some very loyal industry supporters who have handed me names of other small internet radios all the way up to producers at the large satellite radio stations. They figure that with my resume someone would pick us up sooner or later.
It has even been suggested I restart the old NWR (I have my own webcast portal with a capacity of some 3500 listeners at no cost). Indeed, I have been offered everything from bands signing waivers so I need not pay the rights associations to, in one case, being offered a full production studio complete with recording, broadcasting, editing, even chairs for a live audience, performers, and telephone connections for talk radio!!! These offers are coming from people I have worked with in the past so I know they are half-way genuine too. All of this materializing since the news broke about the show. LOL imagine, if it all were to work out I could have the BBC of the internet! Whoever takes the show up next is going to have one hell of a performance!
Until we can park the show it remains in the cooler, however, stay tuned for details.

Having problems connecting?
Some of the most common connection problems are:
Problem: WinAmp says "Service Unavailable"
Solution: The station is not broadcasting or the broadcast server cannot take anymore people. Please try again in a little while.
Problem: Vocals sound distorted or slow.
Solution: Reload your WinAmp to get a better connection.
Problem: I was listening and suddenly got cut off and the sound didn't return.
Solution: Wait a minute then try pressing the PLAY button on WinAmp again.
Problem: Sound is choppy or broken
Solution: Your computer is going too slow. Shut down some programs and processes.
