Kloak

Biography

Kloak (1998-present): a Thrash Metal band from Denmark.

A

s their bio says "Noise and brutality, energy and swamp, these are general elements in Kloak's sound". With a mixture of noisy 'indie rock' and smashed up grinding heavy metal this band defines its style as "Indie Metal" and "evil influenced music". Their sound was self-defined as featuring unstructured styles hiding behind the band's ever-changing expression where the noise's blurred sound was broken by controlled brutal outbursts. The music was further confused by penetrating self-invented chords, while drums and bass gave the sound a lo-fi quality.

Kloak was formed in late 1998 and by May 2000, their first demo Slough was released with the membership of Ronny Lagoni (guitar), Morten HA (drums), Nielc Eriksen (bass) and Anders Mogensen (vocals). Slough contained the song Touch on the track-list, which went all the way to the finals in a national Danish demo-contest on Danish Radio broadcast P3 Trax.

In November 2001, the demo Splendor was released, and in May 2002 Kloak released their third demo Cock, which also got rave reviews in the local Internet press.

In one week in July 2002 Kloak recorded their first full length A True Bohemian Revolutionary together with Anders Bech who also produced and mastered their Slough and Splendor releases. The CD featured guests Nis B. and Boriz S. from the Danish band Dureforsog, as well as Anders Langhoff. The album was released on the 3rd of March 2003.
