Biography

Ildjarn (1991-2005): a Black Metal band from Bø, Vestfold Og Telemark, Norway.

T

he solo project from the Thou Shalt Suffer bass player Ildjarn (Real Name: Vidar Vaaer), Ldjarn featured occasional assistance from Nidhogg (keyboards/drum programming/vocals).

The band formed in 1991, and after recording a couple of demos he started releasing albums through his own 'Norse League Productions' label. On some of his albums he has worked together with Vegard Sverre Tveitan (a.k.a. Ihsahn), Samoth (Real Name: Tomas Tormodseter Haugen) of Emperor and also a man going by the aforementioned name Nidhogg. Over the years he has proven to be a prolific musician by releasing an extrAORdinary amount of albums in the form of Seven Harmonies Of Unknown Truths demo (1992), Ildjarn demo (1993), Norse demo (1993), Minnesjord demo (1994), Norse EP (1994), Det Frysende Nordariket (1995; compilation), Ildjarn (1995), Forest Poetry (1996), Landscapes 2CD (1996), Svartfråd EP (1996), Det Frysende Nordariket (1997; re-release), Strength And Anger (1997), Son of the Northstar EP (2001), 1992-1995 (2002; compilation), Hardangervidda Part 1 (Ildjarn-Nidhogg) (2002), Hardangervidda Part 2 (Ildjarn-Nidhogg) 2CD (2002), Ildjarn (2002), Ildjarn-Nidhogg (2003), Nocturnal Visions EP (2004), Ildjarn 93 EP (2005), Ildjarn Is Dead compilation (2005) and Rarities compilation (2012).
