Apart of the developing Swedish Metal scene in the early 1980s, Overdrive played a basic 80s metal sound and launched their career with the introductory EP Reflexions in 1982 under the stable membership of Pelle Thuresson (vocals), Janne Stark (guitar), Kjell Jacobsson (guitar), Kenth Ericsson (bass) and Kenta Svensson (drums), along with two albums to follow titled, Metal Attack (1983) and Swords And Axes (1984); Swords And Axes proving to be a fairly accomplished and heavy affair for the time. The band disbanded in 1985, with a brief reformation in the early nineties and a one-time reunion gig in 1997. Stark has remained active in the Rock scene, doing some solo work as well as recording with Locomotive Breath. 2001 saw the release of Mission Of Destruction, a posthumous live album, recorded at various times in the eighties.
Footnote: Do not confuse this Overdrive with the Serbian hardcore punk/metalcore band.
