Steeler was a short-lived project, basically a farm team for two to-be famous musicians by the names of Ron Keel (vocals) and Yngwie Malmsteen (guitar). Featuring fellow musicians Rik Fox (bass) andMark Edwards (drums), their music was standard 80's Rock/Metal, with Malmsteen's classical soloing already a bit out of place. Their debut self-titled album was one of the early Shrapnel' label releases, and one that helped establish the label as a place for Metal guitar heroes. After Steeler split, Ron Keel went on to form his own Keel project.
Footnote: Not to be confused with the German band of the same name.
