Formed originally under the name Charged GBH, they featured the membership of Cal (Real Name: Colin Abrahali; vocals), Jock Blyth (guitar), Ross Lomas (bass) and Wilf Williams (drums). Taking their name from the criminal offense named GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm) these Mohawk wearing Oi punks followed in the style of Exploited, Blitz and Discharge, resulting in the release of a violent debut EP Leather Bristles, Studs And Acne (1981). Their brutal three-chord attack would give them a 17 U.S. with their debut album Baby Attacked By Rats (1982),under their original name. This, it would turn out, was their only hit for they were forced aside by the prevailing NWOBHM and Thrash movements and so after shortening their name to just GBH and releasing Babys Revenge (1983) they gradually switched to a decidedly more metallic/Thrash/Speed approach with Midnight Madness And Beyond (1986), and No Need To Panic (1987). By the time Kai Luigi Reder replaced Wilf, their transformation was complete and A Fridge Too Far (1989) and From Here To Reality (1990) resulted.
Anthony Morgan stepped in to replace Ross for Church Of The Truly Warped (1992) and Kai would leave for Joseph Montanaro for their Punk Junkies (1996) album.
