Atilla

Biography

Atilla (1983-1986): a Thrash Metal band from New York, USA.

T

his thrash outfit was assembled by John De Leon (guitar) in 1983 who set about enlisting the services of Vincent Paul (vocals/bass) and A.T. Soldier (drums). Their debut came with the track Metal Over America on the 'Mausoleum' sampler compilation in 1985. Atilla's debut album Rolling Thunder (1986), produced by Rods' drummer Carl Canedy, came shortly later but made little impact. Even by featuring a cover of Alice Cooper's School's Out the album's fusion of Thrash and basic hard rock failed to impress the populace at large and the band broke up shortly after its release.

Footnote: Do not confuse this Atilla with a Dutch band under the same name.
