fter he left Judas Priest, Rob Halford engaged in several other self-started operations, including the Hardcore influenced Fight to publish two albums, and the Industrial styled Thrash attempt Two resulting in a one-off album. Both efforts boasted a marked change from his work in Judas Priest by utilizing a more Metallic Hardcore sound. Both operations failed after only a small number of albums, but in 2000 he returned with his solo, self-titled project Halford and the aptly titled album debut, Resurrection. The album featured the line-up of Rob Halford (ex-Judas Priest/ex-Fight/ex-Two; vocals), Mike Chlasciak (guitar), Bobby Jarzombek (ex-Spastic Ink/ex-Juggernaut/ex-Riot; drums), Patrick Lachman (ex-Diesel Machine; guitar) and Ray Riendeau (bass). Harping back to his days in Judas Priest, the album was pushed up the charts mostly on the strength of its title track, and Made In Hell, a kind of anthemic fast-as-hell track on the origins and success of the heavy metal genre. The One You Love To Hate, another feature, sported guest vocals by Bruce Dickinson (of Iron Maiden). A world tour ensued with a subsequent live recording, Live Insurrection, following in 2001 with his second studio attempt Crucible following in 2002. Mike Davis would assume the bass duties shortly after. In 2003 he announced his return to Judas Priest.
