Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, Canada a suburb of Toronto (that actually is geographically closer to Hamilton, Ontario), Westbound started in 1999 originally as Westbound 27 when Matty B. (a.k.a. Matt Barrett; guitar/vocals) and Bosch (Real Name: Ryan Shaw; bass/back. vocals) joined up with friends on drums to play music. They finally found a full time drummer, but this relationship was short lived for before long they were using temps on the position again. Chuckles (Real Name: Craig Blain; drums) would soon become the new permanent drummer in time for their debut EP demo, From Nowhere To Here. This demo was recorded in one day due to shortage of funds at a cost of only $200, with the vocals only receiving 15 minutes of that time. The production suffered as a result but there was enough to make their point. The "27" was then also dropped from their name, completing their Green Day and Ramones influenced music.
