Based in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. Rogue started in the spring of 1996 and, due mostly to aggressive touring with the likes of Fates Warning, GWAR, Nevermore, Malmsteen, Dokken, Staind, etc. they became well known in and around their home state. Their first release, If I Were God (1998), would follow shortly later. Subliminal (2000), their second effort, showed great improvement, and their 1999 performance at the Milwaukee Metal Fest certainly didn't hurt their reputation any. By this time, however, the membership of Devon Kimzey (drums), Bill Terrell (vocals), E.A. Schuster (bass) and John Bollack (guitar/vocals) were offering a mature and honest sound with excellent production rarely seen of independent records of the melodic Hardcore style.
