Uruk Hai (Spain)
The Lord Of The Rings inspired name Uruk Hai first appeared in Spain in the winter of 2001, as a project of Defernos (drums) and Thorgul (a.k.a. Nazgul; guitar/bass). After a few rehearsals, vocalist Crom was added to the line up to record their first demo, In The Side Of Eternal Eclipse, eventually released by Battlefield Records' in 2002.
The summer of 2002 saw Heolstor join on second guitar but little action otherwise until the Spring of 2003 when the band recorded two new songs for their upcoming split EP's, specifically their Split w. Isenheim (2003) featuring old school Black Metal inspired by Spanish renaissance's dark writers, and in the medieval times and legends. But soon after, Thorgul left the band to start his own solo project.
Footnote: No relation to the band now known as Burzum.
