Men Of War
Basically, Men Of War is a direct rip off cover band of Manowar, even to the point of covering Manowar tracks on their debut demo, Hail To Bännjerländ (2000), featuring a cover that was a direct copy of Manowar's Into Glory Ride depicting them in the appropriate costumes of tight spandex and loincloths as opposed to Manowar proper. The demo was created in tribute to their fans that encouraged the project at their first gig at a fair in Bann, county of Kaiserslautern, Germany; the same people who found their fan club. The gig received such a good response in 2000 that they decided to make it a real project, so drummer Matthias Mayer (a.k.a. Matthias Columbus) founded this band as a side project featuring other members, Patrick Fuchs (a.k.a. Patrick Adams; vocals), Carsten Kettering (a.k.a. Ketti DeMaio; bass) and Andreas Thinnes (guitars). (Two original members existed before the band had made it to public notice by the names of Andreas Weiß (guitar) and Till Pinnow (bass)). Indeed, the four made not just a band but formed an intense friendship.
