Demonicon

Biography

Demonicon (1998-present): a Death Metal band from Minneapolis, Minnisota, USA.

M

inniapolis' Demonicon, combined a dual vocal assault and a vicious mixture of technicality and slow-pounding riffs; the band's motto said it all, "Where chaos and brutality collide".

Formed in 1993 by Brian Owens (guitar/backing vocals) and Bill Hedal (vocals/bass) the band started under the moniker Dominion, and had witnessed a revolving door of members over the years. Founding member Owens was joined by vocalist Brandon Almendinger, guitarist Anthony Columbus, bassist Patrick Morris, and drummer Corey Jones. While still under the Dominion name, Demonicon self-pressed and distributed their first CD, and performed at many death metal festivals with opening slots for countless national bands, but after their former act's split and subsequent reformation under the Demonicon name, their 2002 appearance at the Chicago Deathfest and the strength of their demo, Dominion (1998) they got the attention of 'Root of All Evil Records' (the label that would soon after sign such black metal acts as Teratism. The band's second (but first full-length) CD, Condemned Creation was put out shortly thereafter. Condemned Creation (2000) not only strengthened the fan base even more, but also garnered rave reviews from underground. The release of their third CD, Bloodlust (2003), was the most solid, most vicious, yet artistic album the band had done to date. Hymns of Apostasy would follow in 2008.
